The Gilded Mooring

A tavern for those with wet boots, hungry bellies, and time enough for a story.

The Gilded Mooring stands one steep lane above the southern quay, with blue shutters facing the harbor and Market Square below. Its low common room stays warm under beams that decades of hearth smoke have darkened, and a carved ship’s prow hangs over the bar with gold worn thin by patrons who touch it before they sail.

The tavern feeds dockworkers at dawn and merchants at dusk. It also gives travelers a bed before mountain roads open. Narrow rooms fill its upper floor, the house stew follows the catch, and the owner keeps a slate by the door for messages in any script guests can manage. People post longer messages on the market notice board near the tavern steps.

Proprietor

Selvar Venn keeps the tavern and quickly spots hungry travelers. He also finds sailors who seek a quiet table and adventurers who mistake rumors for plans.
