Selvar Venn runs the Gilded Mooring with silver at his temples, ink on his fingers, and a careful eye on every door in the common room. For three decades, he traded between river markets, mountain settlements, and ports beyond the western headlands before he chose Port of Asgoth as his home.

He speaks many languages with the ease of someone who learned them through trade, apologies, and nights in unfamiliar towns. He gives practical advice and laughs at his own bad luck. He avoids tales that guests have already heard. The stories he does share involve stubborn captains, customs officers, lost cargo, and odd meals.

At the table

Adventurers often speak to Selvar first because he knows who has arrived in town and which roads people can use. He also hears harbor gossip. He notices travelers who need help but do not ask, and in return he asks for clear accounts, prompt payment, and no fights near the stove.
