The Wayfarer’s Measure

An outfitter for people who mean to leave the road behind.

The Wayfarer’s Measure faces Market Square from a narrow stone-fronted shop with a green door and a faded map above it. The shop stocks trail food, waterskins, lamp oil, rope, packs, weatherproof cloaks, hunting gear, and tools chosen for use rather than display.

Most customers leave town on expeditions, though a harbor family may buy cord or oil there. The stock suits people who plan to enter the hills. It also serves people who follow the river or leave marked paths behind. Each item has a clear use, and the shopkeeper explains it before a sale.

Proprietor

Nessa Calder keeps the shop. She worked as a scout and field cartographer for the city’s geographers’ guild, ranging far from Port of Asgoth. She talks eagerly about terrain, weather, and places beyond the usual roads, and her advice carries clear excitement for the outdoors.
