The Brass Bell
A harbor store beneath a stolen warning bell.
The Brass Bell faces the water on the lower quay. Nets hang beneath its awning, and a brass bell announces fresh fish from the morning boats. Inside, shelves crowd the walls with fishing tackle, rope, sailcloth, tar, and everyday provisions. Fishers bring nets for repair, while crews stock up for journeys upriver to Stillwater or out to sea.
Proprietor
Maren keeps the store. A retired shore raider, she took its bell when her crew went ashore for provisions and the harbor’s warning bell annoyed her. These days she mends nets beneath it and tells customers about her fortune.
