The Gilded Mooring
Food, a bed, and stories from the road.
The Gilded Mooring stands on a steep lane above the southern docks. Its blue shutters face the harbor, with Market Square below.
The main room stays warm, with a low ceiling and wooden beams dark from years of smoke. A carved ship’s bow hangs above the bar. Guests touch it before they sail. Their hands have worn away much of its gold covering.
Dockworkers eat here at dawn, and merchants come in the evening. Travelers stay while they wait for the mountain roads to open. Small, narrow bedrooms fill the upper floor. The stew changes with the day’s catch.
Guests write short messages on a slate by the door. They can use any language. Longer messages go on the market notice board near the tavern steps.
Owner
Selvar Venn runs the tavern.
