Market Square
Fish, food, and everyday supplies by the harbor.
Market Square forms a small, paved triangle between the southern docks and the Gilded Mooring. Traders set up tables each morning under awnings attached to nearby buildings. At midday, carts and handcarts use the square again.
Dockworkers bring most goods up from the harbor each morning. Stalls sell fresh fish from the bay, beans from upriver, lamp oil, salt, rope, needles, and soap. Buyers bargain with the sellers over prices.
Ships sometimes bring unfamiliar goods: spices, carved charms, unusual tools, or food that local cooks do not know how to prepare.
Lanka Belter regularly sells her paintings here.
The Wayfarer’s Measure opens onto the northern side of the square. The notice board stands below the old dock wall near the tavern steps.
